I think I just ran out of words

I sat down to write this post and my brain went ’sput’.  I looked at the page and went ‘er…’

But true to form, butt in chair and write something, and words are appearing on the screen.  Warning!  This is first draft, unedited mind dump.  It will probably be horrible.  Read on at your own peril.

I took two days off from writing, and one day off from life.  Today I got up, got the small man ready for daycare, sent my boys out into the cold and rain and went back to bed.  I slept all day, and boy do I feel so much better now.

I told myself it was back to writing tonight, but I was so afraid, deep down, that the two days off would have drained my ability to write and I would be struggling to put words on the page.

Not so!  Saved by the ritual! Cup of tea in hand (no bikkies, aw) I sat down in front of the folder.  The first two pages were a struggle, but then it all came back and I ended up with 1200 words for the night. A new record on this project!

Notice the wordmeter to the right; I have officially passed the previous wordcount for this project.  Halleluja!  Let the bells ring out.  It’s all new ground from here, and it’s going to be great.

Now I have to go write a guest post on 5 ways to trick your brain into working with you, not against you.

(I made that title up just then.  I think I’ll run with it.)

  • Can you trick my brain into writing 3rd person deep penetration POV?

Glad you’re feeling better…you’re far more critical when you feel well.

I see the graphic evidence! Behold the new ground!

Keep up the progress, have another cuppa if it helps. Me, I got to finish red marks before lunch hour ends.

  • Look. At. You. Go.

Holy cow, you’re my inspiration! All my words have left me, too.

I’m glad you’re feeling better, bb. Pls continue to take it slow and easy.

  • mmm sleep, glad you’re feeling some better and managed to get back into the writing just like that!
I really appreciate you taking the time to do the guest post, thanks again!!!

  • 1200 is a fairly good day, keep it up! You’ll probably find that now that you’re past this mental hurdle of 24k, everything will start to flow so much easier.

  • 1200, congrats! I’ve been in a bit of a slump the past few days and have not written… dunno why. Glad that you are doing well!
