  1. Day 100 – 1,002 words, giving me 3,736 words for the marathon, and a grand total of 52.6K for the 100 days!

This challenge has been amazing, and I’ve learnt so much these past 100 days. As Jill and Kerryn have already said, thank you Merrilee for initiating and hosting this challenge. Jill, Kerryn, it’s be wonderful doing this challenge with you, and I look forward following your progress.

If you’re interested, I’ll be posting a final 100×100 update on my blog on Wednesday, and a post on the lessons I’ve learnt from this on Friday.

    • Well done, Matt! That’s an awesome word count to end the 100 days on and more than 50K over the whole time is fantastic.

I look forward to reading your wrap up posts. :) I’ve got an update on my stats and will be reflecting on the 100 days and doing a ‘The End’ post later this week too.

    • An amazing finish, Matt, and an amazing grand total! That you were able to average over 500 words a day is a real accomplishment. And I’ll definitely be checking your blog this week – look for me in the comments section!

  2. Day 100 – 541 words

This experience has been simply invaluable. Merrilee, thank you so much for initiating 100×100. I now know, through 100 days of experimentation, which writing habits work best for me, and I even have a clearer insight into what I want to write and why. Kerryn, Matt and Merrilee, thank you for all your good advice and kind words. As the novice of the group, I have learned so much from your comments (and your blogs too). Big, big hugs to you all.

    • You’re very welcome! I hope we’ll see you popping up in the Write More group. I’d love to keep up with your progress.

This process has been such a confidence building and I’ve found a pace of writing that I can keep up through the daily activities of life. Admittedly the next 100 days are going to be a bit busy as we crash into the end of the year but I’m going to keep going.

  3. Day 100 – 1,074 words (631 on the novel, 443 freewriting from a prompt).

And that’s it! I can’t believe it’s finished. All the way back in June I vaguely counted where we’d be on day 100 and October seemed so, so far away. And yet, here we are.

I know we have all grown as writers. I loved the company and thank you all for the encouragement and interest. I will absolutely miss checking in here each day but am planning to continue checking in daily on twitter with my word count.

I’ll be posting a 100×100 stat update on my blog next but will probably take a day or two to really absorb this experience and provide some deeper thoughts.

Huge thanks to Merrilee for instigating this little adventure, even if other responsibilities have stolen her away for the end. Much love to all!

    • Great finish, Kerryn! I’m going to miss checking in here every day too. Looking forward to your 100×100 musings on your blog.

    • I know, October seemed to be ages away back in June! I’m sad that it’s finished, but I’ve really grown at lot, from trying to write 250 words a day, but not really managing it, to writing 500+ words every single day. I look forward to following (and cheering on!) your progress on Twitter!

  4. Day 99 – 547 words.

With a little over 2000 words needed tomorrow to finish the marathon, it’s clear that I won’t be able to make it. Still, this marathon has gotten me writing much more than I would have in this busy week. I’m hoping for a big count tomorrow to finish off 100×100!
